ADOLESCENTES

These photos explore issues surrounding adolescent sexuality, pregnancy, and reproductive rights in Latin America’s Andean Region - Argentina, Bolivia, Chile, Ecuador, and Peru.

The project focused on spaces of connection for young people, including schools, churches, youth groups, families, and intimate friendships. The photos became conversation starters for educators wanting to share sexual health information with teens in relaxed, intimate conversations and presentations.

An exhibit, Vincules Vitales/Touched, was shown at local ministries of health throughout the region.

Photos were published by the World Health Organization, United Nations Population Fund, and the MacArthur Foundation, among others.

The project was featured on NPR’s Global Journalist - University of Missouri School of Journalism

The work was commissioned by Family Care International, global women’s health advocates now part of MSH.org.
